On 12 June 2025, a memorial service was held at Thaba Tshwane City Hall to honour the life and service of Lieutenant General (Retired) G.L. Ramano, esteemed Chairman of OTT Solutions and a revered military leader.

General Ramano served as Chairman of our Board of Directors from 1 October 2014 until his passing on 8 June 2025. Over more than a decade, he provided steadfast leadership, always guided by principle, humility, and a deep sense of duty.

Tributes were paid by family members, colleagues, and fellow military veterans. Among those who spoke in his honour were Major General (Ret) Lawrence Smith and General (Ret) S.Z. Shoke. Lieutenant General M. Ramantswana addressed the gathering on behalf of the Chief of the South African National Defence Force.

On Saturday, 14 June 2025, Gen Ramano was laid to rest with full military honours—an honour befitting a man who dedicated his life to serving his country and the people under his command.

Despite his high rank and accomplishments, Gen Ramano remained a humble man. His character and values left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of working with him. Under his guidance, OTT Solutions thrived, grounded in the integrity and vision he brought to our leadership.

We honour his memory, salute his service, and extend our deepest condolences to his family and all who mourn his passing.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Gilbert Romano on June 8, 2025. A distinguished leader, patriot, and mentor, General Romano served his country with honour and integrity throughout his military career and continued to make lasting contributions in retirement.

As a valued member of the Board of Directors at OTT Solutions, a proud veteran-owned company, his leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to supporting fellow veterans have left an indelible mark on our organisation. His insight and presence will be profoundly missed.

On 1 June 2025, OTT Solutions had the honour of standing alongside the community at the CMVO SA Memorial Service, held at the Memorial Wall of the Voortrekker Monument. As part of the event, we proudly showcased the Ratel SLEP, reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting South Africa’s military heritage and veteran community.

This annual memorial service is more than just a ceremonial gathering — it is a solemn promise. A promise to never forget those who served beside us and gave everything in service of their country.

The CMVO (Council of Military Veterans’ Organisations) plays a vital role in nation-building, especially among veterans, and we are proud to stand in support of their mission.
