AAD is Africa's premier defence and aerospace event, attracting industry leaders and participants from around the world. This year’s exhibition promises to be particularly significant, focusing not only on the latest advancements in defence technology but also on the growing importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) within the sector. With the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the South African Defence Industry entering a new phase of collaboration, AAD2024 will serve as a crucial platform for companies to secure their position in this evolving landscape.
As part of its commitment to supporting the SANDF and the local defence industry, OTT Solutions, in partnership with the OTT Group of Companies, has initiated the Ratel Life Extension Programme (SLEP). This programme is designed to significantly enhance the mobility, protection, and firepower of the Ratel infantry fighting vehicle, showcasing the collaborative efforts within South Africa's defence sector to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions. Successful demonstrations of this programme have already been conducted at Gerotek for the Department of Defense and Military Veterans, as well as a firepower exercise at Lohatla.
